The season is officially over for the Los Angeles Clippers. This is after they got utterly dominated in Saturday's Game 7 matchup against the Denver Nuggets, 120-101.

The Clippers had some very high hopes in this one after securing a 111-105 win in L.A. in Game 6 on Thursday to force a winner-take-all Game 7.

It just wasn't to be for the Clippers, though, with the Nuggets proving to be the better team not only on Saturday night but in the series overall.

Clippers head coach Ty Lue spoke to reporters after the game, and he revealed his immediate message to his players after the devastating Game 7 loss.

"I told the guys individually, tough loss. Not playing our best game in a situation like this," Lue said, via Clippers reporter Farbod Esnaashari.

It's going to be a very intriguing offseason ahead for the Clippers as they mark the third straight year that they've been eliminated in the first round. It has now been four long years since this team has won a playoff series.

This only means that the former MVP could choose to walk away from the Clippers as an unrestricted free agent this summer if he so chooses.

At this point, L.A. could be looking like a very different side once the new season begins.
