Two Pensacola area wrestlers will return from Kissimmee state champions.
Gulf Breeze senior Camdyn Elliott (110 pounds) and Pace senior Kiiaana Gavere (140) took home titles in their respective weight classes inside Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park.
Elliott won her second straight state title after winning the girls 100-pound title as a junior, completing a 38-0 season. She won every round via bonus points, including a second-round pin of Strawberry Crest's Jordan DeGlace to win the state title.
Gavere became Pace girls wrestling's first ever state champion, beating Sunlake's Ennis Coakley 14-7 to take home the title. She was runner-up at 125 pounds as a junior. Gavere's older sister, Aireaana, won the 130-pound title at Milton in 2023, becoming Santa Rosa County's first girls wrestling state champion.
Gulf Breeze senior Garrett Ferguson (4th, 120), sophomores Ryder Cohen (4th, 126) and Leyton Collazo (3rd, 157) and Pace sophomore Dominik Baxter (5th, 120) were the other local placers, with both schools competing in the 2A division.
This is Ferguson's third time placing at state, having previously finished fifth in 2024 and 2025. This is the first time Baxter, Cohen and Collazo have placed at state.
The Gulf Breeze boys finished 11th with 51 points, while Pace finished 19th with 33.5 points. Lakeland Lake Gibson won the 2A state title with 179 points, beating Somerset by six points to take home its fifth state title and first since 2023.
Orlando Freedom won the girls state title with 125 points, beating Homestead South Dade by 33 points. Gulf Breeze finished 16th with 34 points, while Pace finished tied for 29th with 24 points.
