The offseason continues to bring major changes for Kentucky Basketball, as fans took to social media to react to the transfers of Brandon Garrison and Jasper Johnson.

Garrison, a key frontcourt piece over the past two seasons, is entering the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining. His decision drew a wide range of reactions, with many fans expressing appreciation for his development and physical presence in the paint, while others were happy to see him leave because he was not as productive on the court.

Meanwhile, Johnson’s decision hit closer to home for many in Big Blue Nation. The Versailles native came to Kentucky with high expectations, choosing to stay in-state and represent the Wildcats. However, after a freshman season that didn’t quite meet those expectations, Johnson will now look for a fresh start elsewhere.

Fans also noted these departures highlight the ongoing transition in Kentucky, as the program continues to reshape its roster through recruiting and the transfer portal.

The Brandon Garrison experience had some really fun moments, but it also had some really low moments.

But when it was “BG time,” it was a wild ride.

I’ll be rooting for Brandon Garrison like crazy.

Going from Lance Ware to Brandon Garrison to having neither of them is a very humanizing, humbling experience

With Brandon Garrison entering the transfer portal, what are your favorite BG memories?

My most memorable Brandon Garrison moment was when I was standing close to him on the court and someone threw a full beer can at his head. Wild night. pic.twitter.com/MaTBiiCRmK

The hometown kid will indeed enter the transfer portal.

I wish @BruhJasperJ the best of luck moving forward.

I’ve mentioned it multiple times in group chats and conversations, I really wanted to see a Year 2 Jasper Johnson. A year under his belt in college, in his natural… https://t.co/O0fCSuQtw8

Would’ve loved another year of Jasper Johnson in Lexington, but sadly it seems like that may not be happening.

Really wanted the “KY til I die” to work out long term here, I truly believe he has such a high ceiling and NBA potential still nmw. I’ll be rooting for the hometown… https://t.co/DEZr6kohTO

It will be interesting to see what Jasper Johnson decides the next step should be. He has a P5 talent skillset, P5 athleticism, but a D3 frame that he needs to work on filling out. It will be a gamble if he decides to go to another P5, but I think Jasper could THRIVE at the right…

I still think Jasper Johnson would’ve done well with more PT. I hope that he finds his game at his next destination. https://t.co/sSHpeSSmBe

Figured it was coming but I hate it. Wish he had a better experience at Kentucky on and off the court. I still think he’s going to be a dawg. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

Good luck to Jasper. This is one where I think under the old model he would have become a legend my his senior year
