Norwegian Kristoffer Reitan is a PGA Tour champion, winning the signature event Truist Championship in his 15th start.

Reitan shot a 69 in the final round at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte to finish 15-under 269 for the week, two shots better than Rickie Fowler and Nicolai Hojgaard. Reitan had a one-shot lead on Alex Fitzpatrick with two holes remaining when Fitzpatrick, the brother of Matt Fitzpatrick, double-bogeyed the par-3 17th.

"I don't have any words," Reitan said following his victory. "This is way more than I expected. For this to happen this quickly is unreal. A dream come true."

Reitan, 28, gained entry into Truist because of his standing in the Aon Swing 5 rankings. He was coming off a tie for 14th at the Cadillac Championship and T2 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Reitan, who was born in Oslo, is the second Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour behind Viktor Hovland. He was the second Norwegian to win on the DP World Tour, also following Hovland.

Here is what you need to know about Kris Reitan

Reitan moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, after ending last season eighth in the Race to Dubai rankings on the DP World Tour, which earned him playing status for the 2026 PGA Tour season. He wanted to live close to Hovland and fellow Norwegian Kris Ventura, who Reitan teamed with at the Zurich. Hovland organizes "Team Norway" practice and games at Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens.

Reitan comes from a famous — and very rich — family

Reitan is a grandson of Odd Reitan, a billionaire businessman. Odd Reitan is co-owner and CEO of the Reitan Group, a Norwegian conglomerate comprising of three business areas: Reitan Retail, Reitan Real Estate and Reitan Kapital. The company's total revenue in 2022 was about $10 billion. The company employs 38,000 people in Scandinavia and the Baltic region.

Reitan has a famous sister, too

Reitan's younger sister, Viktoria Reitan, is an alt-pop artist who performed under the stage name "bby ivy," and is now known as IVY. Viktoria, 26, is considered a rising star in the Norwegian music industry and a popular influencer on social media with more than 340,000 Instagram followers. The London-based star has re-branded herself as "sultry, self-assured, and made for after dark."

“This era is about trusting my instincts — creatively, emotionally, physically,” she said. “I’m not overthinking it. I’m letting it be loud, sexy, and unapologetic.”

Where is Kris Reitan in the world ranking?

Reitan cracked the top 100 in the Official World Golf Ranking in June 2025 and was No. 48 entering Truist. He was T17 this year at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, T10 at the Valero Texas Open and T41 at the Masters before his impressive weeks at the Zurich and Cadillac.

Reitan won the 2014 Toyota Junior World Cup along with Hovland. He is no stranger to South Florida, having won the Junior Orange Bowl Championship. He represented Europe in the 2016 Junior Ryder Cup. Reitan gained major recognition by becoming the first Norwegian to qualify for the U.S. Open as an amateur in 2018. On the DP World Tour, he won the 2025 Soudal Open and the 2025 Nedbank Golf Challenge.
