Great flick. I'm glad they changed the ending.

Yes, but look what year that film came out, 1993.

Gary Oldman was just coming off of Bram Stoker's Dracula, but his only higher profile role before that was probably as Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK.

Brad Pitt had started to gain in popularity, but like Val Kilmer's role, his seemed like a gimmick. You could barely even tell it was Val Kilmer as Elvis anyway.

Samuel L. had up until that point been strictly a character actor. Did some nice work, but nothing memorable. His last role before this was as Arnold, the chief engineer at Jurassic Park. (And we know how that ended, don't we?)

This was only James Gandolfini's 2nd film, his first being an Australian made-for-cable-tv movie.

Michael Beach is recognizable as being currently on Third Watch, but spent several years as a paramedic on ER.

Chris Penn was of course Nice Guy Eddie in Reservoir Dogs, but nobody really knew much about him since he was mainly a fixture in B-movies--which is probably why Tarantino picked him.

Tom Sizemore was a pretty seasoned character actor at the time, his last major role was probably as Sal Delvecchio in Passenger 57.

Michael Rapaport had been in virtually nothing, so this role was pretty major for him, since it had some importance. He seems to specialize as the lanky white boy who isn't too bright (which is probably why he got this part).

Of course, since Jack Black wasn't even in the final cut, there isn't much to say about him.

There is a whole bunch of well-know people in this film in 2003, but back in 1993, it was just a solid cast, not even as high profile as the groups Robert Altman would assemble for Short Cuts, Pret a Porter, and even The Player.

Gandolfini sure got his ass kicked (and by a girl). The ending shootout scene was very cool. With everyone standing there holding their guns, the tension was awesome. I was just waiting for the stuff to hit the fan. Brad Pitt was hilarious. He played that stoner character perfectly. It was so funny how he was the reason that the drug dealers kept finding Clarence.

Yeah, that was awesome how he switches gears when he realizes that he’s going to die no matter what. That was a very intense scene.

i didn't think he got his ass kicked. in fact, that's my favorite scene because he does such an awesome job of absolutely beating the ish (as abomb would say) out of her. she just got lucky at the end.

I’ve got to disagree here. A corkscrew through the foot, a busted statue over the head, set on fire, and then finished off with a stab to the back? I’d say that’s one heck of an ass-whip’n. Yes, she got hers too, and actually that was a little uncomfortable to watch, but I’ve been watching Sopranos for so long and so often that I feel like I know the man. It was quite disturbing to me.

That was an awesome scene, as was the Walken/Hopper scene. Acting that good is just awesome to watch. The Brad Pitt scenes were perfectly placed and really cracked me up.

This is one of those movies that I’ll have to contemplate for a while and then watch again sometime.

I finally got around to re-watching this one. Yeah the cast is incredible. I had forgotten that James Gandolfini was in it. So many good characters. Brad Pitt's may be my favorite. The dialog is what makes this film so great though.
