Trinity Rodman is hyped for her boyfriend Ben Shelton’s latest win!
After Shelton, 23, defeated Ugo Humbert of France in the 2026 Mubadala DC Open to move on to the quarterfinals, Rodman, 24, was spotted cheering him on in the stands — including a special moment when she did his signature “hang up the phone” celebration.
In a video shared by the tournament on Thursday, July 30, Rodman is seen watching as Shelton scores the match-winning point over Humbert. Rodman then stands up from her seat to cheer before she and a man next to her did Shelton’s signature celebration, in which he hangs up a figurative phone.
Shelton mounted a comeback after losing the first set to Humbert on Thursday, taking the next two sets 6-3, 6-4. Next, he’ll face Alejandro Tabilo of Chile in the quarterfinal on Friday, July 31.
Shelton debuted his signature celebration in September 2023 after he knocked out Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinal of the US Open. A few days later, Novak Djokovic mimicked it after defeating Shelton in the semifinals.
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios weighed in on Shelton’s celebration at the time, too, telling Eurosport: “‘I love it. Ben is one of the more exciting personalities we have in the sport and he is going to take the game a long way,” according to the Tennis Gazette.
Rodman has been a regular supporter of Shelton’s while he competes, and vice versa as the tennis star has been spotted at multiple Washington Spirit games supporting his soccer star girlfriend.

After Shelton defeated Taylor Fritz in the Stuttgart Open in June, he called Rodman his “good luck charm.”
“I want to thank my girlfriend for flying here from Brazil,” Shelton said on the podium. “I won a title at I think every tournament she’s been at this year. You’re definitely the good luck charm, so I really appreciate you making the effort,” he said as the audience cheered.
On Thursday, Rodman posted a video of her own showing her racing back from the Spirit’s win in Utah to make it in time for Shelton’s match.
“When your a pro athlete but also trynna be a wag,” she captioned the TikTok.
