As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepare for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, this year, they are without a first-round pick. And while the Jaguars have scored plenty of impressive talent in the first round, some franchise stars have also been taken in later rounds.

After previously ranking the top three first-round picks, we are now moving on to the second round. Like in the first round, there have been plenty of good players picked in the second round. Once again, these players are chosen based on their production, longevity, and overall impact on the franchise.

Runners-up: Daryl Smith, Myles Jack

#1: Brad Meester

In the 2000 NFL Draft, Meester was considered one of the top centers available and was taken by the Jaguars in the second round. He ended up spending his entire NFL career in Jacksonville and only missed a handful of games. He was never named to the Pro Bowl, but he provided the Jags with years of stability and high-quality play.

At the time of his retirement in 2013, he held a number of franchise records, including seasons played, games played, games started, and consecutive games started.

#2: Rashean Mathis

Mathis lived the dream for every football player dreaming of making it to the NFL: he not only got to play in the NFL, but he got to play for his hometown team. After graduating from Englewood High School, he played football in college for Bethune-Cookman, and after an impressive senior season, was considered one of the top safeties heading into the 2003 NFL Draft.

In Jacksonville for nine years, Mathis was moved to cornerback and quickly became one of the best to ever play at the position for the franchise. He's widely considered one of the best defensive players overall for the Jags, and in his time there, he racked up 30 interceptions and a first-team All-Pro nod in 2006.

#3: Maurice Jones-Drew

Widely considered one of the best running backs in Jaguars history, MJD was drafted in 2006 from UCLA in the second round. He quickly proved himself to be an elite RB, despite being shorter than average. He was an explosive, powerful running back who led the league in rushing yards in 2011 and was named to the Pro Bowl three times.

He was also named the NFL Alumni Running Back of the Year twice, as well as the NFL Alumni Player of the Year in 2011. Jones-Drew still holds numerous franchise records, and he very well may go down in history as one of the best Jaguars running backs ever.
