Not quite a team related question, but it is.

I want to take my son (who will be a little over 1 year old at the time) to a Cardinals game this year. What are the guidelines for tickets for infants? Are you required to purchase one for those under certain ages?

Thanks for the help.

In the past, you didn't need a ticket for anyone under 2..they sit in your lap. However, check with the team's site to be sure that's still the case.

A word of caution:

1. A stadium football game averages about 117dB. That's loud enough that the human body begins to actually feel the sound, particularly lower-frequency vibrations. (85dB is the loudest volume considered "safe" for 8-hour periods of exposure. For four hours of exposure, the loudest acceptable "safe" volume would be 80dB.) Of course, that 117dB is an average, which factors in quieter times when the game is slow and the fans are just talking (instead of screaming). The peak volume points during a game can reach an incredible 135dB, depending on the stadium, the fans, and other factors, which is only a few decibels shy of the threshold of pain! Since games generally last 3-4 hours, there are plenty of opportunities for those incredibly loud moments to occur during each game. It's no small wonder, then, that some NFL teams (such as the Vikings) are starting to equip their players with custom molded ear plugs as part of their standard safety gear.

Not the best environment for an infant.

Yeah... I brought my three-year old twins to a game late last year (I guess almost three). It was loud for them.

The procedure is to get a lap pass as soon as you enter the gate for your little one. The agent will see the kid and direct you to the proper person. If you're a season ticket holder, this is a great question for the Big Red Service Team whenever they call you next.

I would also highly recommend some noise-cancelling headphones or other ear protection, because especially regular-season games get really loud. Tiny tots aren't going to particularly care, but my boy was completely freaked out by the people, the size of the space, and the noise. We spent a quarter in the Team Shop and another quarter wandering around the concourses before we decided it was time to go home in the middle of the third.

My little girl enjoyed eating churros and other garbage in the seat for most of the game, though.

Children’s Ticket Policy

Children 24 months of age or younger are permitted entry inside University of Phoenix Stadium without a ticket provided they obtain “lap pass” prior to entry. Adults can request a lap pass from stadium staff checking tickets at the entrance gates. The child receiving the lap pass must be present when the pass is issued. There is a limit of one lap pass per adult game ticket.

We did this in the past when my kids were small.

This is good to see in writing. I was just assuming this was the case. We are coming out in a few weeks for the SD preseason game with our sons (he will be about 14 months at the time). Figured we would taking for a preseason game to get his feet wet. If he does not like it then I won't be too heartbroken to miss a portion preseason game. He does not like to sit around for very long periods of time, so I expect to be bouncing around.
