LSU faced Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday night. The Tigers were hot, coming off back-to-back series wins. But Bethune-Cookman dampered LSU's spirits, securing a 10-7 win at Alex Box Stadium. The Wildcats are the No. 1 team in the SWAC and brought a 22-10 record to Baton Rouge, still, its a disappointing loss for the Tigers. in the SWAC, and they are no team to scoff at. Bethune-Cookman is 22-10 overall and 10-2 in conference play.

This game was a back-and-forth affair between these two teams until the top of the seventh inning. In that half inning, LSU hit two batters, walked two batters, had an error, and gave up a triple and a single, resulting in five runs for the Wildcats. That propelled Bethune-Cookman to a 10-6 lead that LSU would never recover from. Here are three takeaways from the loss.

We have seen a few times this year how LSU has one awful inning that ends up dooming them. This time, it was the top of the seventh. Bethune-Cookman only got two hits, but an LSU error, walks, and Tigers pitchers hitting a couple of batters led to five runs for the Wildcats.

Seth Dardar and Chris Stanfield both suffered from injuries in tonight's ballgame. Hopefully, they will both be fine in the long run. LSU has already had to play for a while without Stanfield. Hopefully, both of them will be ready to go this weekend.
