Earlier this month, head coach P.J. Fleck and defensive coordinator Danny Collins added to their defensive backfield with a verbal commitment from Omaha safety recruit Wyatt Liebentritt.
After a lot of thought and prayer, I’m excited to announce that I’ve officially committed to the University of Minnesota. Grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way. RTB!!!@Coach_Fleck@Coach_DCollins@JoeRFootball@Coach_Turman@Warren_Academy@SlattSpeed626pic.twitter.com/IPdK8cpAXO

Scouting Report
A two-year starter who has seen the field on offense, defense, and special teams, Liebentritt projects as a safety at the next level. Last season, he recorded 49 tackles, one for tackle for loss, and two interceptions. He is a high-IQ defensive back with the ability to diagnose plays quickly, and the instincts and athleticism to make a play. Liebentritt is a ball hawk in the secondary and dynamic when he has the football in his hands. As good as he is in pass coverage, he is also physical enough to come up and provide support against the run. Liebentritt will need to add muscle to compete in the Big Ten, but he has the frame to do it.
