He may be the best reliever you've never heard of.
Well, you're probably aware of him if you consistently watch New York Yankees games.
He's left-hander Brent Headrick, and he's already made 61 appearances for the Yankees in 2026.
In 60.1 innings, Headrick has a 1.49 ERA with 73 strikeouts and just three home runs allowed.
Outside of closer David Bednar, the 28-year-old should be considered manager Aaron Boone's most trusted reliever. His performance this season should have earned Headrick an All-Star selection.

"Brent Headrick's 51 scoreless appearances are the most by any Yankees pitcher through 119 team games in franchise history," Sharp added.
Clean innings are what managers look for from their bullpen, and Headrick gets the job done more often than not.
The Yankees claimed Headrick off waivers from the Minnesota Twins last February. That decision is paying off for New York's pitching staff.
