BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football received a verbal commitment from Crown Point's Trevor Gibbs Wednesday night.

Gibbs, who is a two-way starter at tight end and linebacker, is the No. 6 ranked in-state recruit in the 2026 signing class and ranked No. 779 overall, per On3's industry rankings.

The three-star recruit joins Decatur Central defensive back Kasmir Hicks and Franklin defensive lineman Blake Smythe as the third top 10 ranked player in Indiana — the Hoosiers only signed one top 10 in-state player last year — to join a class that currently has eight commits.

Gibbs had 35 catches for 600 yards last season and 60 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble for a Crown Point team that went 12-1 and suffered a 30-7 loss to Westfield in semistate.
