NBA insider Chris Haynes explained why the league decided not to punish the Spurs superstar despite missing his required media availability. "I was told that the league contacted Wemby and gave him a warning and said that moving forward they will have to get him fined marginally for skipping out on media, but the reason why he was not penalized for skipping media after last night's games is that he was just, he was voted by the Pro Basketball Writers Association for being one of the most accommodating players to media, like being someone who comes, speaks, he's forthcoming with that," he said. "This is a one-time situation. Yeah, he's only human. One-time situation where he did this, so they let him off the hook this time. So moving forward, they told him,if you do this again, they will have to, to fine him."
