Diehard Chicago Cubs fans will quickly recall the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 World Series. Utility player Ben Zobrist batted .357 in the Cubs’ seven-game victory over Cleveland — their first championship in 108 years.
Fewer will remember what the winner of the World Series MVP award received from MLB as a prize from title sponsor Chevrolet.

Jog your memory and reach for your wallet. Zobrist is giving away his 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary edition convertible as the grand prize of a sweepstakes to benefit his Champion Forward charity.
According to its Instagram account, Champions Forward is a nonprofit organization that “helps teenage athletes, parents, and coaches experience sports in a mentally and emotionally healthy way.”
The car’s value is listed at $50,000. The winner of the also receives $15,000.
Zobrist helped the Kansas City Royals end their own championship drought in 2014, then signed as a free agent with the Cubs in December 2015. He made the National League All-Star team — the last of his career — before leading the Cubs to the World Series.
Zobrist spent three more years in Chicago before retiring in March 2020 with a career .266 batting average, .357 on-base percentage and .426 slugging percentage for the Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland A’s, Royals and Cubs. He saw time at every position on the field except catcher.
