The Boston Celtics face a talented Eastern Conference heading into the 2026-27 NBA regular season. Where will the Celtics finish the year given how much better many of their peers in the East have gotten since their last campaign? Boston has likely improved the team even taking into account the trade of star forward Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers given his costar on the wing Jayson Tatum was out injured with an Achilles tendon injury for most of the season.

But health and fit matter more than they have in the past, and several teams could easily leapfrog the Celtics if things do not go as planned for Boston. The hosts of "Havlicek Stole the Pod" sat down with "Third Apron" cohost and CBS Sports analyst Sam Quinn to suss out the order of the East on a recent episode and where the Celtics fall in it.
