If Arch Manning is going to win a title as the Texas Longhorns quarterback in what will most certainly be his final season in Austin, he and the Longhorns will have to fight through one of the toughest schedules in all of college football in 2026. Texas has the third toughest schedule in the nation according to On3.

Only Ohio State and Arkansas have a tougher schedule that the Longhorns. And Texas plays both the Buckeyes and the Razorbacks in the coming season. OU has the fourth toughest slate, who Texas also faces. LSU is in the Top 10 at No. 9. UT will travel to Baton Rouge this season as well.

The Horns face four college football playoff teams next season. Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Texas A&M represent a third of the teams in the 2025 CFP. Two of those games are on the road and one is at a neutral site (OU). Only Ohio State will travel to Austin of the CFP quartet.

But it's not just the CFP teams that make the schedule tough. Texas must also face LSU and Missouri, who are both solid programs. And we all know the trouble UT had in 2025 with Florida and Mississippi State.

If Manning and the Longhorns are going to win a title in 2026, they will have certainly earned it.
