The Houston Texans traded up to 26th selection to pick Georgia Tech guard Keylan Rutledge.

Houston traded picks 28, 69 and 167 to Buffalo Bills in exchange for their pick. The Texans also got pick No. 91 in the deal.

Buffalo traded the 28th pick to the New England Patriots who selected Utah tackle Caleb Lomu.

Trade grade: C

Why Texans made trade


The Texans had one of the worst offensive lines in football, ranking 30th in pass block win rate and 32nd in run block win rate last year, per ESPN.

Rutledge was considered the second-best guard prospect in this year's draft. He started 13 games at right guard and was named first team All-ACC in 2025.

The Georgia Tech product was the a top-rated guard but he might’ve been available with Houston’s originally 28th pick.

How Texans, Bills trade affect rest of draft board​


The Bills believe they can get value in Day 2 of the draft. We’ll see what they do on Friday. Buffalo ended Thursday without a first-round pick.
