One of the topics Titans Wire covered last week, leading into the start of the new league year, was what the Tennessee Titans would do with their restricted free agents, and it appears we are starting to get some answers.
On Monday, NFL Insider Tom Pelissero reported that the Titans will not tender starting cornerback Darrell Baker Jr., although they do have interest in bringing him back.
This move doesn’t come as much of a surprise, even with the Titans having salary cap space with the projected cost of the tenders. Breaking down the projections on Spotrac, the first-round tender should come in at around $8 million, the second-round tender at around $5.8 million, the original-round tender at around $3.7 million, and the right of first refusal at roughly $3.5 million.
Baker has the experience to warrant consideration, and he could have been an option given the lack of cornerback depth on the roster, but the $3.5 million price tag is quite a bit heading into the start of the new league year.
No word was given on the team’s other restricted free agents, safety Mike Brown, cornerback Kemon Hall, and safety Jerrick Reed II, but if the general manager, Mike Borgonzi, did not apply a tender of one of his starters, it is unlikely that any of the Titans' restricted free agents will get tendered.

The Titans aren't tendering restricted free agent CB Darrell Baker Jr., who has started 25 games, including 10 last season. They'd still like to bring him back. But he's now a free agent and has interest elsewhere.
