When it comes to the NFL draft, you truly never know how it's going to work out. You can plan, evaluate, assess, and predict outcomes, but the reality of what happens doesn't always follow predictions. Look at Tom Brady, a former sixth-round draft pick turned into the greatest quarterback of all time. It works the same way with other players, even when they fly under the radar.

Pro Football Focus recently compiled a list of every team's secret superstar, the one player who is the most underrated impact player. For the Tennessee Titans, it won't surprise anyone to see who fits the bill for PFF.

Tennessee Titans: LB Cedric GrayGray emerged as one of the NFL’s premier run defenders this season. His 92.7 PFF run-defense grade ranked second among all defenders, and he consistently showed elite instincts around the football. Gray made first contact on 110 plays — no other Titan recorded more than 69 — and he led Tennessee with 13 tackles for loss or no gain, a total that ranked 15th leaguewide.

The Titans drafted Gray in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft. He landed on injured reserve that August and missed the first half of the 2024 season. He would return in Week 12 and make a handful of plays that season.

In 2025, though, Cedric Gray looked like an entirely new football player. He was all over the field making plays, getting stops, and getting his first career sack. He helped Jeffery Simmons disrupt opposing offenses and played a vital role on the defensive side of the ball. He recorded a total of 164 tackles (97 solo), one sack, one fumble recovery, and four pass deflections.
