With the NFL draft over and offseason activities in full swing across the league, the post-draft debates have begun and outlets are racing to make their opinions known on the winners and losers up to this point in 2025.
The Tennessee Titans are a completely different team than they were in 2024. The offensive line appears improved, they added veteran leadership at every level, and they drafted what they hope is their quarterback of the future in Cam Ward. Ward has been impressive throughout the offseason process and seems ready to take on the responsibilities involved with being a franchise quarterback.
The NFL is a quarterback-driven league, and that was a huge issue in Nashville in 2024, where neither Will Levis nor Mason Rudolph seized their opportunities with the Titans. While the offensive struggles were not limited to them, their play in some ways doomed Tennessee in many games.
Like the team power rankings, evaluating a team's quarterback situation can help assess their chances moving into the 2025 season. Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports did just that and set out to rank all 32 projected starters in 2025 from their current status and outlook. Here is what they had to say about the Titans.
Ward starting off at No. 25 in the rankings aligns with his rookie status and never taking an NFL snap. He does come in ahead of well-known quarterbacks such as Bryce Young, Russell Wilson, Joe Flacco, and 2024 starter Mason Rudolph, who is pencilled in to be the quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025.
This starting point for Ward should allow him the upward trajectory that many believe he will have once he settles into Nashville. After an impressive rookie minicamp, Ward has already established a baseline and, like the Titans as a whole, there is nowhere to go but up.

25. Cam Ward - Tennessee Titans
The new face of the Titans franchise, Ward may share a penchant for backyard-style ball with predecessor Will Levis . Yet his loose cannon also aided him in critical spots during his college run.
