FWIW, the Spurs beat the Clippers tonight so the Suns didn't lose any more ground to them.

An interesting twist. The Trail Blazers moved a half game ahead of the Clippers into the 8th spot. Suns cling to the 7th spot in the West.

Both teams have 38 losses. The Suns have 35.

Only five games left in the season for the Suns with only two at home:

@Chicago, Sunday
Houston, Tuesday
Dallas, Wednesday
@Los Angeles Lakers, Friday
@Oklahoma, Sunday

Winning three out of the five games guarantees the Suns 7th place but these will be tough games as one can see.

It begs the question, how bad do the Suns want it?

A good time to get into playoff mode. At least soon. Ott to fix the rotations and find us some advantages, for instance when their starters go to the bench. Get well soon, Goody.

Don't hold your breath. :p And I'm hoping moonbeams shoot out of my nostrils.
i don't think ott changes the starting lineup today especially with the 1st quarter it had against the hornets but we still need to incorporate size when we're getting throttled in the paint and on the boards

ott has no problem going small when we're getting beat -but never going big is starting to piss me off

I agree. And even though Maluach is still a teenager, he's our best deterrent at the rim and that has been a big issue for us lately. Even with Williams back, I'd like to see him get some minutes. Maybe evenly distribute the center minutes between our three centers. And yes, Fleming needs more court time. His defensive intensity is sorely needed.

Not really. Chicago and Dallas should be gimme's. The Lakers without Luka should be a win. Rockets game certainly is winable and OKC may not even care about winning that last game and might bench everyone.

It's just not going to happen this season. He wants to wait till next year to start Fleming.

I am not even sure he is wrong about that. The vets we have won't take kindly to being benched. With all that said, continuing to start Gillespie is a big mistake, it just makes us to small, and he does very little on offense when Booker and Green are on the floor.

starters schmarters - i just want to be able to go big when the need arises and it has risen several times imo - it's rising more and more and right before the playoffs

it's the only thing we haven't tried when we're getting murdered inside - and i'm not saying fleming at power forward i'm saying fleming and oso both as fowards at the same time with a center williams or maluach

If we have learned anything about the Suns this season, no game is a gimme.

If they can't beat teams actively trying to tank, then there is no reason to hold out any hope they are even going to win a play in game.

That's a way to look at it, but logic falls out the window when teams step on the court.

Bench players have given the Suns more than their share of problems. And no one is going to convince these players to roll over. They want a job both now and into the future.

What I loved and was surprised by was:
- defensive intensity
- inside presence

We've lost both, sort of. Ott, isn't it?

Jordan Ott seemed determined to fix the Suns problems in the media session after the Hornets game. Hopefully they found the fix during the days off. I guess we will see, soon enough.

Actually, logically Green should be benched and come in to spell Booker. Start Gillespie and Booker. Then Brooks, Fleming, and Williams. THAT is the recipe for success.

I've thought about this, but if the Suns want to keep Green long term, he probably would balk at being a bench player.
