Each offseason, the New Orleans Saints and the city itself do their best to utilize the Caesars Superdome as much as possible and try to get as much money out of the stadium as possible. With the Super Bowl recently being hosted there, they certainly maximized their revenue potential, and now this summer, they are expected to host another major championship game for another sport.

Recently, it was announced that the X Games would be returning under a new identity, called X Games League, with both a summer and winter iteration, meant to draw out the best skaters, BMX bikers, motocross riders, snowmobile riders, snowboarders, and Skiers in the world to compete for a title. 2026 will be the inaugural year of this version, and the host city for the first championship is none other than New Orleans.

The lineup of athletes is absolutely star-studded, including a plethora of gold medal winners from around the world. Some of the notable summer names include Tony Hawk, Shaun White, Ryan Williams, Rob Adelberg, Nyjah Huston, Gui Khury, Garrett Reynolds, and more. Shaun White's return is an extremely fun storyline, given his retirement from Olympic competition in 2022, and he will be competing both in the summer and winter versions this year.

One of the most interesting concepts of this league is that there will be a snake-style draft, and 10 clubs will be competing with each other to win the New Orleans-hosted championship. All information regarding the league, rules, draft, and more can be seen here on the new X Games League website.

This is an extremely fun opportunity for the citizens of New Orleans, Louisiana, and the surrounding states to see some of the premier athletes in all of the world compete in various sports over the summer. Not only that, but it will also be a huge revenue generator for the region, which is a great sign for New Orleans.
