I think he works out again this week..Personally.if i was an NFL guy i wouldn't send anybody to watch because every other player has 1 chance and lives with their personal pro day and he blew his. But,what if he runs a 4.6 and bench presses 225 about 25 times? Will the GM's change their tune on him and move him back into the top 5?I hope so because it will be one more player dropping Leftwich to us.

hehe cbus, you are persistent. Anything to get Leftwich?

I started out in the Leftwich corner, then shifted 6 times and have come to the conclusion that I would be happy with any of these players, in no particular order:

Terrell Suggs
Byron Leftwich
Terence Newman
Marcus Trufant
Dewayne Robertson
Kevin Williams (my gut tells me he will be the best DT)

EdB is right - I can't call the top of our draft at all.

Then again, maybe he'll have another sub-par work out. Then the Cards would be able to trade with the Jets for their 2 - 1st. rounders and still be able to pick him up lower in the first round.

Well I started in the Leftwich camp and thats my story and I'm stickin to it!

It just amazes me how players' stock moves up and down so much in the off-season. Who was talking about Kyle Boller last fall? Nobody.

I'd be happy with Suggs as well. Suggs and Leftwich demonstrated their ability to make plays on the field during the season. Thats what matters to me more than 40 times in some controlled workout environment.

Not for nothing, but Thomas Jones was a dominant player in college, got it done on the field and in his workouts, and now you all hate him.

That's because he runs into the offensive line and then falls down. Half the time, no-one really tackles him, he just trips on his shoe string and lays on the ground. I could count on one hand the number of tackles he broke last year. A good running back has to be able to shake that first tackler ocassionally when the play breaks down to get positive yards. TJ was unable or unwilling to do that. IMO, there was no discernable effort put forth to break tackles and move forward. Dance, prance and fall down. Run after run.

Thats a good point. I'm not saying that a great college career automatically translates into a good NFL career. I'm just saying that proven performance means more in my evaluations over workouts.

We can all set back after the fact and look really smart saying stuff like that now. The point was, he was a great looking prospect coming out of college.

I wouldn't hate Suggs as our pick.He would be my 2nd choice.I just think Leftwich is the best player to come out in about 5 years.Look what Kurt Warner did for the Rams offense.Granted Marshall Faulk had alot to do with it,but Warner put them into the Super Bowl. The DL is so deep we can get quality in rounds 2-3.

sort of sounds like the things we said about Garrison Hearst. No heart, fumbles, gets hurt all the time, etc.
