Stuttgart named as suitors for NEC Nijmegen's Kodai Sano
According to Omroep Gelderland, VfB Stuttgart have identified NEC Nijmegen's Kodai Sano as a potential summer transfer target.
The 22-year-old has previously attracted the interest of several bigger clubs such as Ajax Amsterdam and Nottingham Forest.
At that time, however, the midfielder was not given permission to transfer and was a key pillar of the team throughout the season.
With Sano and others, Nijmegen sensationally finished third and could still secure a Champions League spot via qualification.
In 39 competitive matches, the press-resistant box-to-box midfielder contributed three goals and seven assists in total.
However, he is likely to have plenty of suitors again this summer – PSV Eindhoven, among others , have Sano in their sights.
The Eredivise side are considering him a possible replacement for Ismael Saibari, who is on the verge of joining Bayern Munich.
