The Dayton Dragons series opener at the Lake County Captains, near Cleveland, was canceled Friday, July 17, due to air quality concerns in northern Ohio.
A decision on a makeup date for the game has not been determined.
The teams were scheduled to play at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Dragons after winning the first half East Division championship are 8-12 overall in the second half. Dayton is coming off a series loss at the Great Lakes Loons in which it lost five of six. The Dragons then had four days off coinciding with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game break.
Dayton and Lake County have split two six-game series in Dayton from April 7-12 and May 12-17.
The two teams are scheduled to wrap up their short series on Sunday before Dayton returns home Tuesday to face the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Dayton is scheduled to return to Lake County Aug. 11-17.
