Steph Curry was not exactly in a jovial mood during Thursday's exit interview. The Golden State Warriors faced the press less than 24 hours after they had been eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the NBA playoffs, and it was quite understandable that there was a dark cloud hovering over the press conference.
One of the questions Curry was asked was about his future with the Warriors now that he is entering the final two years of his contract. The same is also the case for Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler, whose current deals also come to an end in 2027.
"So yeah, our contracts are all me, Draymond, Steve (Kerr), Jimmy, all two years," Curry said. "And we want this ride to last as long as possible, but it's just about like, what does this team need for next year?

"Answering those questions over the summer, everybody preparing themselves individually to get through another 82-game season, hopefully with a little bit more of a little comfort room down the stretch, where we don't have to have a two-month gauntlet just to make the playoffs.
"So that's all I'm really focused on right now."
Neither Green nor Butler was able to step it up in the Timberwolves series amid Curry's absence. There was a lot of finger-pointing as Golden State suffered four straight losses against Minnesota following their unexpected victory in Game 1.
More than a few fans were quick to assign the blame to both Green and Butler for their shortcomings. So much so, that some supporters wanted both of them out of the squad for next season.
For Curry, though, it appears clear that he has included both Green and Butler in his two-year vision for Golden State. As he said, it's now all about putting in the work in the offseason with the objective of getting back on track for 2025-26.
What happens beyond the two years this trio has left on their respective contracts, however, is anybody's guess at this point.
