Tottenham defender Clare Hunt will undergo surgery after suffering a knee injury at the Women's Asian Cup.
Hunt started four of the five games for hosts Australia as they reached the final, which they lost to Japan on Saturday.
The 27-year-old centre-back had played in every Women's Super League match for Tottenham this season before departing for the Asian Cup.
"Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur wishes Clare a full and speedy recovery," Spurs said.
Spurs currently sit fifth in the WSL, six points off fourth-placed Arsenal who they face in the north London derby next week.
The Matildas said: "Sending all our love your way, Hunty! We're thinking of you and know you'll come back stronger than ever."
