All eyes were on Caitlin Clark going into the Indiana Fever's 2025 WNBA preseason opener against the Washington Mystics on Saturday.
The former Iowa Hawkeyes star was ruled questionable with a leg injury, and with a back-to-back this weekend, the Fever elected to rest their All-WNBA guard.
But numerous players will be making their debut for Indiana against the Mystics, including guard Sophie Cunningham. The seventh-year sharpshooter was acquired from the Phoenix Mercury as part of a four-team deal. Cunningham averaged 8.4 points on 37.8% 3-point shooting, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game last season.
Before the preseason match, Cunningham was seen entering Gainbridge Fieldhouse donning a matching charcoal-gray Adidas lounge set. It featured a long-sleeve crop top and high-waisted fitted shorts. She topped it off with white sneakers, white ankle socks, a white Indy 500 cap, and a large black tote bag.
WNBA fans enjoyed Cunningham's outfit of choice for her Fever preseason debut, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.
"10!!! CC’S NEXT," one fan said.
"Love that Sophie is rocking an Indy 500 hat," added another.
"INDY 500 LEGEND SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM," wrote a third.
"Nice hat, Sophie!" commented a fourth.
"omg my galss," posted a fifth.
"Nice hat, Sophie! #Indy500," added a sixth.

Cunningham was the No. 13 pick in the second round of the 2019 WNBA Draft. She had spent all six of her WNBA seasons alongside Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner in Phoenix, earning a key role for the team early on in her career.
Following three preseason games for the Fever, they will make their regular season debut on May 17, hosting the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
