Sixers' LeBron James, ESPN closing in on 'Last Dance" type documentary

With the 2026-27 season being the 24th in the illustrious career of Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James, there is a chance that this could be the final season for the NBA legend. Of course, James had seriously considered retirement after his eighth season with the Los Angeles Lakers, but is now looking to help the Sixers move forward.

James has, obviously, had a legendary career. He is a 22-time All-Star, 4-time MVP, 4-time finals MVP and champion, and has a number of other incredible awards, moments, and feats. Therefore, if this is truly it, he wants to document it. Maybe even turn it into a "Last Dance" type of documentary a la Michael Jordan's last season with the Chicago Bulls.

Per The Athletic, James and his team are close to getting it done with ESPN.

James and the Sixers will look to have a deep playoff run for the first time in a long time in the franchise's history. The Sixers have not been past Round 2 since 2001 and have not won a title since 1983. With James on the floor, Philadelphia will have an excellent chance at doing so in order to get it done this upcoming season.
