Florida State basketball will be well represented when the NBA 2K26 Summer League tips off in Las Vegas, as six former Seminoles have earned opportunities to showcase their talents on one of basketball's biggest offseason stages. Former Florida State standouts LaJae Jones, Robert McCray V, John Butler Jr., Darin Green Jr., Chauncey Wiggins and Jamir Watkins are all expected to participate in the Las Vegas Summer League, which begins July 10 and features all 30 NBA franchises.

The NBA Summer League represents more than just exhibition basketball. For the group, the event offers an opportunity to compete for roster spots, two-way contracts and training camp invitations ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.

LaJae Jones — Golden State Warriors

Jones enters Las Vegas with the most secure footing of the former Seminoles after becoming the first NBA Draft pick of the Luke Loucks era. Golden State selected the versatile forward with the No. 54 overall pick in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft, rewarding a breakout season at Florida State that saw him emerge as one of the ACC's top two-way players.

The Warriors will open Summer League against the Dallas Mavericks on July 9th, giving Jones an immediate opportunity to square off against another former Seminole. Golden State's schedule also includes games against the Thunder and Grizzlies before the tournament's final placement game.

Darin Green Jr. — Dallas Mavericks

Green earned another NBA opportunity after continuing his professional career following his collegiate days at Florida State. One of the Seminoles' most prolific three-point shooters in recent memory, Green will look to use Las Vegas to showcase the perimeter shooting that has kept him on NBA radars.

His Summer League begins with perhaps the most intriguing Florida State storyline of the week, a matchup against Jones and the Warriors. Dallas will also face the Lakers and Grizzlies during pool play.

Robert McCray V — Los Angeles Lakers

After going undrafted in June, McCray quickly landed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, earning a Summer League invitation after leading Florida State in scoring and assists during the 2025-26 season. The explosive guard now has an opportunity to compete for a training camp invitation while continuing to build his professional résumé.

The Lakers will face Oklahoma City in their opener before taking on Dallas and the Clippers. The July 11th matchup with the Mavericks could pit McCray against fellow former Seminole Darin Green.

John Butler Jr. — Milwaukee Bucks

Unlike the other former Seminoles, Butler arrives in Las Vegas with multiple years of professional experience. After entering the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and spending time on a two-way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, Butler spent the 2025-26 season with the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee's NBA G League affiliate.

His play with the Herd earned him a spot on the Bucks' Summer League roster, where he has already started games during the California Classic. Milwaukee opens in Las Vegas against the Miami Heat before games against San Antonio, Phoenix and Charlotte.

Chauncey Wiggins — Boston Celtics

Wiggins signed a Summer League contract with the Boston Celtics shortly after the NBA Draft, giving the former Florida State wing his first opportunity to perform in an NBA setting. After transferring from Clemson for his final collegiate season, Wiggins developed into a valuable rotational player for the Seminoles thanks to his length, defensive versatility and perimeter shooting.

Boston begins Summer League against Toronto before matchups with Charlotte, Atlanta and Sacramento.

Jamir Watkins — Washington Wizards

Watkins returns to Summer League after beginning his professional career in the Washington Wizards organization. The former All-ACC forward starred during his time in Tallahassee, earning national recognition as one of the conference's most complete players before hearing his name called in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Washington opens against Utah before facing Sacramento, Chicago and the Clippers.

For Florida State fans, the opening days of Summer League will feature several compelling storylines. Jones and Green will oppose one another in the Warriors-Mavericks opener, while McCray could meet Green two days later when the Lakers face Dallas. Beyond the Seminole reunions, the event also provides six former Florida State players with another chance to strengthen their standing within their respective organizations as they continue pursuing NBA careers.
