Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is arguably the NBA's best player. Unfortunately, SGA has been labeled a flopper by a large chunk of the NBA community despite being one of the most aggressive drivers in the league.

Like many other players across NBA history, Gilgeous-Alexander does exaggerate contact at times, but that is a regular way to score points for most superstars like Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade. Unfortunately, the discourse surrounding SGA has dealt a blow to his reputation.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's team defends him from misleading ads​

For the past two seasons, the Thunder have been the best team in the league. With SGA as their star player, it is regular for them to get backlash because people don't want a dominant team.

Unfortunately, Gilgeous-Alexander is a unique case because people from all sides are calling him a flopper. Embellishing contact is normal in the NBA, but it seems there is a microscope on Gilgeous-Alexander.

This was most apparent when a prominent sports prediction platform called Underdog Sports released a video and promotional campaign that was calling SGA a flopper.

Considering his image was being used for promotional material, it was normal for Gilgeous-Alexander's management and lawyers to send a cease and desist letter.

The Athletic's Jason Jones obtained reports of Underdog Sports receiving the letter. The company created a board game similar to Operation called Unethical Hoops.

They even had a contest that would give fans 100 copies, but SGA's lawyers have fired back with a cease and desist. As of Wednesday evening, the website is still live, so this could become an even bigger situation as it progresses.
