Tennis fans wanted to hear from Serena Williams after her return to Wimbledon on June 30, 2026 after four years away from Centre Court.
It was not to be as Serena did not do a postmatch press conference. Likely tired and somewhat disappointed because she had chances to win the match against Maya Joint, Serena sent a statement to the media.

Serena said: “It was really great to be back at Wimbledon. I never expected to be here. The atmosphere was amazing. Walking out was amazing. I definitely relished it and missed it and enjoyed the moment more than anything.”

She probably does not know yet what she will do in singles for the rest of the summer. Tennis Channel’s Jim Courier hopes that she plays in Washington, DC, Canada, or Cincinnati in the leadup to the US Open.
The immediate concern is recovery for doubles with Venus later in the week.
