Senegal: Gana Gueye discusses the Lions' evolution under Pape Thiaw
Idrissa Gana Gueye shared his analysis of Senegalese football in recent years under the leadership of Pape Thiaw.
Having won AFCON 2025 with Senegal, Gana Gueye spoke in an interview with Onze Mondial. The Everton midfielder explained his view on the evolution of Senegalese football.
“This group has been thriving for years. This didn’t start today. It’s the result of long-term work, with senior players, young talents, and a staff that hasn’t changed. Even though the former head coach left, the staff remained the same. Pape Thiaw took over the team and became the head coach. This squad is simply continuing the good work it has been doing for years. There are principles, there are clear objectives set. Everyone is trying to make sure we achieve them.”, he declared.
