There is a big community feel in South Bend, and it has extended from Notre Dame’s campus to the South Bend Cubs.

The High-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs on Thursday night wore an Irish themed uniform, complete with the three leaf clover, Gold and Green colors and a very unique hat as well.

Their social media team shared multiple photos of the uniforms, and it brought them plenty of luck. They’d win the game 7-5 over the Beloit Sky Carp’s, and set a single-game record with 9 steals on the night.

The Cubs have been a staple of the community since 1988, first starting off as a Chicago White Sox affiliate but a different name, the Silver Hawks. That relationship would end in 1998, when the Arizona Diamondbacks took over as the MLB affiliate. The Cubs took over in 2015, and it’s been a fantastic ride since then.

Voted as the best ballpark in 2017, 2022 and 2023, they’ve won the league in 2019 and 2022 while also winning the John H. Johnson President’s Award in 2015 according to their social media page. Check out the phots of the uniform below, and if you’re a Cubs and Notre Dame fan, it’s a must have.
