Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua has had an eventful offseason — and not in a positive way. The 24-year-old is likely to sign a lucrative multi-year extension with the Rams, but has been the subject of a viral off-the-field allegation.

While head coach Sean McVay acknowledged that Nacua's off-field issues will hopefully serve as learning lessons for the young pass-catcher, he insinuated that it wouldn't affect Nacua's impending extension with the Rams. He added that he hopes Nacua is a Ram "for a really long time."

Nacua has been the Rams' top offensive playmaker in each of his first three seasons in L.A. He already has 313 receptions for 4,191 yards and 19 touchdowns in just 44 games, and Nacua is also the NFL leader in yards per game at 95.3 yards.

When Nacua signs his new deal, he may also break the receiver contract market. There doesn't seem to be any rush to get a new deal done yet, though, as reports indicate an extension could "take a while."

The Rams have the luxury of time with Nacua, considering he's only entering his fourth season and still has a full year before coming a free agent. However, it would make sense for them to want to get a deal done sooner rather than later, so it doesn't become a distraction for the rest of the year.
