Sean McVay seems to know something, and he’s struggling to contain his excitement. The possibility of Aaron Donald returning is “trending upward,” and though no decision is expected to be made until training camp ends, McVay might know Donald’s comeback is on the horizon.
In an interview with Bryant McFadden of CBS Sports, McVay was asked to answer questions using only facial expressions.
“Do you expect to see Aaron Donald playing in 2026 for the Rams?”
He stretched his arm and opened his mouth wide, expressing excitement.
“Do you expect to see Aaron Donald play in the month of September?”
McVay looked up at McFadden and put on a big smile.
“Do you expect to see Aaron Donald – when he returns – get back to that dominant Aaron Donald that you last saw?”
For that question, McVay answered with his words.
“This one deserves an answer,” McVay said. “The one thing I will say, and you know this, is he’s only going to do this unless he feels like he can do it the way he’s accustomed to. He’s earned the right, he’s taken great care of himself, so I’ll say this.”
McVay proceeded to look at the camera, smirk and nod his head.
Yeah, he knows Donald is coming back. It seems to be just a matter of time before Aaron announces his return and officially re-joins the Rams. That won’t come before the Rams leave LMU and return to their facility after Aug. 7, but that’s not far away at all.
