The Seattle Seahawks are reshaping their running back room this offseason. The team couldn't retain Kenneth Walker III, who signed a huge contract in free agency with the Kansas City Chiefs. Walker's departure guarantees the Seahawks will have a new primary ball carrier in 2026.

The Seahawks responded by signing running back Emanuel Wilson in free agency. Wilson is obviously a rotational type and isn't going to really replace Walker. The Seahawks may also draft a running back early, with Arkansas' Mike Washington Jr. among the possibilities.

Still, the Seahawks can't rely on a rookie to immediately carry the load. With Zach Charbonnet facing a lengthy road to recovery after suffering a torn ACL during the playoffs, the Seahawks may have to shift attention to the healthy holdover on the roster. Could George Holani maximize his opportunity in 2026?

It's plausible that the Seahawks' healthy running backs in Week 1 will be Holani, a rookie, and Wilson. If so, it's easy to envision Holani receiving the bulk of early-season carries. The 2024 undrafted free agent could play a sizable role for new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury.

Holani produced 31 total yards versus the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game. He stepped up to the plate, showcasing true three-down versatility by notching 27 receiving yards. With so much uncertainty at running back right now, Holani offers the Seahawks upside and continuity.
