A reunion could very well be in the works with the Seattle Seahawks and a former player. Earlier in April, NFL insider Jordan Schultz announced the Seahawks were meeting with former cornerback Shaquill Griffin on an official free agent visit. At the time, nothing materialized in terms of a contract. However it is clear both sides remain interested in one another, and a reunion might still happen.

The Seahawks did not select a cornerback during the 2025 NFL draft, to the surprise of some. Cornerback depth is an underrated need for this Seattle team, as it gets rather thin behind Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen. Bringing Griffin back into the fold would go a long way to helping shore up this crucial position group.
Ever since leaving the Seahawks following the conclusion of the 2020 season, Griffin has been a bit of a journeyman. He's had stops in Jacksonville, Houston, Carolina, and most recently with the Minnesota Vikings - where he was teammates with new Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold last year.
Griffin played in all 17 games for the Vikings in 2024, and started three of them. He snagged two interceptions and had 41 total tackles.
