MERRIMACK - Sophomore pitcher Michael Gorman helped the Dover High School baseball team win its second straight game on Wednesday with a 7-2 Division I win over Merrimack.
Gorman pitched five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out five, earning the win. He was named Wednesday's Seacoast Standout.
"I felt good and knew the (defense) behind me would make the plays," Gorman said. “It was great to get the win."
Dover is now 8-3 on the season, and has won eight of 10 games since its season-opening loss to Trinity.
Dover head coach Scott Dubben said Gorman has come out this season and has been "as cool as a cucumber" on the mound.
"Nothing seems to bother him and he came out and pounded the strike zone (against Merrimack)," Dubben said. "(Gorman) had all his pitches working and the defense loves playing behind him."
