The dominant Seattle Seahawks are on the verge of the fourth Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. But first, they have to overcome their NFC West division rival, the Los Angeles Rams, in Sunday night's NFC title game in Seattle.
Fortunately for the Seahawks, it sounds like one of their more important players should be feeling A-OK for the titanic matchup with a trip to Super Bowl 60 on the line.
After suffering an oblique injury late last week, Darnold was healthy to start and finish the Seahawks' win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round. This week, particularly with an extra day of rest, apparently features a healthier Darnold. Head coach Mike Macdonald noted that the veteran quarterback's oblique is improving daily but Seattle is taking a cautionary approach with him. The Seahawks are limiting Darnold's throwing repetitions during the week so as not to aggravate anything before the NFC title game kicks off. As such, Darnold is basically relegated to mainly mental reps.
That actually sounds very promising compared to where Darnold's health might have been last week:
Darnold only attempted 17 passes in the Seahawks' divisional round win because he didn't really have to sling the ball in a 41-6 blowout victory. Call it a hunch, but the Seahawks will probably have to lean more on their quarterback to defeat the stronger Rams. It's a good thing, then, that's he on the mend.

Mike Macdonald said Sam Darnold’s oblique injury continues to improve, but said they’ll limit his reps this week.
