We've gotten some good news on the updated New Orleans Saints injury report after Thursday's practice -- even if it's not as much good news as we'd like. Still, a couple of starters are trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's rematch with the Carolina Panthers.
Most notably, veteran safety Justin Reid (knee) practiced on a limited basis after resting to start the week. If he's able to work on at least limited reps again Friday, he could have a good shot at playing this week. Starting right tackle Taliese Fuaga (ankle) was limited again, so he's working his way back, too. Rookie running back Devin Neal (abdomen) was also limited, but backup defensive end Chris Rumph II (wrist) was upgraded from limited participation to full reps. And nose tackle Davon Godchaux had his usual day off for veteran's rest. Star running back Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) and backup right tackle Asim Richards (ankle) were inactive again, and it's tough to see them playing this week if they can't go on Friday.
What about the Panthers? Carolina held a half-speed walkthrough session on Wednesday, and everyone who received treatment was able to practice fully once they got to work on Thursday. That included cornerback Jaycee Horn (concussion), linebacker Claudin Cherelus (concussion), center Cade Mays (ankle), safety Lathan Ransom (thumb), and linebacker Christian Rozeboom (hip/hamstring). It looks like the Panthers will have all hands on deck in Week 15 at the Caesars Superdome. We'll find out for sure when each team practices for the final time on Friday.
