From the outset, the tone appeared far more relaxed than expected, with both men treating the situation in a light-hearted manner.
They ultimately agreed to an eight-round sparring session, where Tsarukyan would not only be allowed to box but also use elbows.
Notably, the conversation did not involve any financial stakes, marking a shift away from what was initially said. Following the call, Garcia deleted his posts on X that had challenged Tsarukyan or referenced the feud.
Unique rules add intrigue to potential clash
The agreed format immediately drew attention due to its unusual structure.
Garcia holds a clear advantage in boxing, given his professional background and experience in the sport.
Beyond that, Tsarukyan will not be able to rely on his primary strength, wrestling, which defines his UFC success.
The inclusion of elbows introduces a different dynamic, creating a hybrid contest that could test both fighters in unfamiliar ways.
