Royals' Carter Jensen is doing Aaron Judge things originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Kansas City Royals have a blossoming star on their hands.
His name is Carter Jensen, and he's hitting home runs that might remind some of Aaron Judge or Giancarlo Stanton.
Jensen, a young catcher, isn't just leaving the ballpark. When he hits the ball out, he hits it with authority.

MLB Network's Sarah Langs shared this stat on X on Friday night:
"Carter Jensen is the only player so far in this young season with multiple 111+ mph home runs. He now has 3, with a 113.7 mph tonight. He’s the first Royals player with 3+ in a calendar month since Jorge Soler in Sept 2019. First rookie with 3+ in a month since 2023 Elly De La Cruz in July."

Some players hit home runs in a simple, just beyond the wall kind of way.
Jensen is hitting the kind of home runs that those most prodigious sluggers hit, the ones that seem like they might leave the stadium or soar right through a wall or break whatever they hit at the end of their flight.
He's been a highly thought of prospect for a while, but there was always the complicating factor in Kansas City of Salvador Perez. Jensen wasn't going to break through earlier than he was ready, because Perez had the catcher spot under wraps.
Now, the Royals have to find a way to play both. Jensen is hitting the ball too hard to do anything but let him keep swinging his potent bat.
