Anyone up for grilled elk sliders, wagyu filet mignon and a $2,000 bottle of wine?
Those are among the options on the menu when Rory McIlroy takes part in one of more revered traditions at The Masters for the first time next month.
McIlroy's menu for the annual Masters Champions dinner at Augusta National Golf Club ahead was announced by tournament officials via social media on Wednesday, March 18 ahead of the first major of the 2026 golf season. The defending champion gets to select the menu each year, and only previous Masters winners are invited to attend the pre-tournament meal.
MASTERS CHAMPIONS DINNER: Menus over the years, from Rory to Tiger
McIlroy's choices included four different appetizers, a first course, a main course, dessert and four wine selections, and many of the reasons for their selection were a nod to McIlroy's personal and golfing life.
Those attending the meal will start with rock shrimp tempura, a peach and ricotta flatbread, bacon-wrapped dates and the aforementioned elk sliders (with caramelized onion jam and roasted garlic aioli). Then comes a first course of yellowfin tuna carpaccio.
The dates are inspired by ones his mother makes, McIlroy told reporters during a news conference, according to the Irish Independent. The carpaccio is a dish from one of McIlroy and his wife's favorite restaurant, Le Bernadin, in New York. The elk sliders are an homage to the lead-up to last year's Masters because McIlroy said he was eating a lot of elk at the time.
"I got this big shipment of elk, and I was eating a lot of that, and I didn’t want elk to be the main course, because I didn’t know if everyone would like that," McIlroy said, "so I incorporated it into the appetizers."
Diners will get to choose between a wagyu filet mignon or seared salmon for their main course, along with traditional Irish champ potatoes ("When I was a kid, I used to eat champ by the bowlful," McIlroy said), brussels sprouts and crispy Vidalia onion rings.
The dessert will be sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and warm toffee sauce.
McIlroy also selected an extensive wine list from Augusta National's wine cellar. It features a 2022 Domaine LeFleive whose average cost is more than $2,000 per bottle on wine-searcher.com. McIlroy revealed in his news conference it's the first white wine he liked. There are also two more wines on the menu that cost at least $1,200 per bottle on average, including a 1990 Chateau Lafite Rothschild that McIlroy said he drank after winning The Masters.
The 2026 Masters Champions Dinner is scheduled to be held on April 7, two days before the first round begins at Augusta National Golf Club. McIlroy won the green jacket for the first time in 2025 and became the sixth person to complete golf's grand slam.
