Another reason why I don’t understand why Fleming didn’t get some time
I don't get it either but I have a lot of confidence in Ott so I'm left curious though not really upset. But I don't really see this team winning a series even if they were able to win a postseason game (or two) so it makes it even tougher to understand why we're not giving our developing players legit court minutes. Unless we're still trying to figure out who we want to keep when the season ends?

Yeah the word is out on how to stop this Suns team. I'm not seeing any creativity from Ott to counter the opposition when our 3 isn't falling either. It'll be a quick outing in the playoffs if Ott doesn't have some tricks up his sleeve.

This offseason will be interesting for Gregory and Ishbia. We're cash strapped and have virtually no assets to upgrade the roster. I wouldn't be against a sign and trade involving Collin for a real PF because guard is the one place we have depth and he's more a luxury than a necessity, IMO. I think retaining Goodwin and Williams are more important for the future of this team.

I'd like to keep Gillespie and the Suns could have, if they had foresight. We've discussed his contract situation before.

Too bad the Suns didn't show interest in Achiuwa but that's water under the bridge as well. He would have provided depth at the 4/5.

Forty eight minute defense and more size is what the Suns need. Apparently the Suns can't maintain the defensive intensity for an entire game.

Dillon Brooks, with his expiring contract, might be the most attractive player to a contender in a trade. It's not a trade I'd prefer to make, only looking at it through the lens of the CBA.

I honestly don't see what's Ott's goal with these rotations.

Showcasing the veterans due to trading purposes? Sharpening-up new lineups till the play-off?

But why doesn't he take notice when these experiments fail completely?
Very good question.

I am very disappointed in how they have been playing. Not a clue why Ott has put his dogs in the dog house and gives all the time to puppies. Too many puppies (anyone remember that song?) and dachhounds.

Whatever Spartan grit this team had the first 2.5 months of the year has totally vanished.
Some of this might have been a little smoke. Many contending teams don't get serious until the All-Star break. Once jockeying starts happening teams get more methodical. Less tinkering. Now factor in ALL THIS TEAM has done is tinker because of injuries? I don't think it's a coincidence that's when the Suns deficiencies started getting really highlighted.

I think fans are overly optimistic if they think the Suns turning it back on will be like a light switch in the play in.

For one quarter I thought maybe I was wrong and they CAN turn it on. But then reality sank it and then it got downright depressing when they had their usual 4th quarter collapse. Time for me to face facts that this team isn't doing any damage in this postseason and to just be happy that the season was mostly enjoyable in spite of all preseason predictions. And to know that we have some promising young players for the future.

This team is much more razor thin than at first glance. Look at the FT disparity last night. If this team is having a game where they can't hit 3's, have high turnovers or don't show up defensively? Anyone of those 3 means the Suns are not likely going to win. On some nights it's been all 3 of those at once. Deeper teams can have a bad night in one of those areas and still win. I don't think the Suns can on a regular basis.

Ott is starting to lose some of his luster. I am beginning to be reminded of a certain Coach Jeff Hornacek, who likewise had a Suns team in his first season that surprised everyone by playing above their talent level.

He also ran small lineups that initially befuddled opponents but became so obsessed with that approach, that when other teams adjusted to counteract it, he would obstinately double down on the same strategy. And you know the rest of the story.

So will history repeat itself? We shall see.

Every era has their version of Jalen Green: JR Rider, Kendall Gill, Ron Mercer, Larry Hughes, Monta Ellis etc..
Kendall gill is a weird inclusion in that group. He was an excellent defender and not a black hole.

Don’t remember. Larry Brown traded him in year two.
Yeah maybe the credit lies elsewhere than with Brown. I googled Hughes and the AI response said we was a very good high impact defender but it said he was particularly effective when he played for the Wizards. I had forgotten he'd even played for the Wizards.

Hughes fell apart when he signed in Cleveland as a FA. He was overpaid and given too big of a role.

He was good prior to then.

It's interesting you mentioned AI. I've found so many mistakes made by AI when it comes to the NBA. I guess it's only as good as it's sources. So much bad information out there.

Google might be the smartest though. Gemini voice is really good although I haven't talked basketball with it.
