Florida State placed two players on the All-ACC Tournament team for the first time since the 2020-21 season, with Robert McCray V being named to the first team and Lajae Jones earning second team honors.
McCray V, the sixth player in school history to be named to the first team, was also a third-team All-ACC selection for his performance in the regular season. He averaged 27.5 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds while shooting .556 from the field (20 of 36), and .400 percent from the 3-point line (six of 15), becoming just the third Seminole in school history to score 30 points in an ACC Tournament game when he scored his Florida State career-high of 30 points in the Florida State’s 95-89 win over Cal in the second round of the tournament. He added 25 points in Florida State’s narrow 80-79 loss to No. 1 in the quarterfinals, very nearly securing the upset of Duke with a last-second shot that clanked off the rim.
He joins Toney Douglas (2009), Michael Snaer and current Florida State head coach Luke Loucks (2012), Mfiondu Kabengele (2019), and Balsa Koprivica (2021) as the only Seminoles in school history to earn first-team honors.
Jones was Florida State’s leading scorer against Duke with 28 points and averaged 21.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in Florida State’s two tournament games, going nearly perfect from the 3-point line (nine of 10).
