There's no one in college basketball like Robbie Avila.

Formerly of Indiana State and now shining bright in March Madness for the Saint Louis Billikens, Avila is the NCAA's answer to Nikola Jokic. He's a bulky center with the passing skills of a point guard and the craftiness of someone wise beyond his years.

Adding to Avila's charm are the glasses, essentially goggles, that he wears when he plays. He's the guy you'd never expect to be the best player on the floor. Yet he almost always is the best player on the floor.

That appearance combined with ability leads to a variety of nicknames. And as a service to all the fans discovering the brilliance of Avila in real time, we've ranked some of his best nicknames.

Robbie Avila nicknames, ranked

1. Cream Abdul-Jabbar

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wore the goggles, too, so this fits. The only critique here: When Kareem was in college at UCLA dominating everyone, he was still known as Lew Alcindor.

And for what it's worth, Avila said recently, "That's the most creative nickname I've ever heard. It's hilarious. I love it."

2. Larry Nerd

A play on Larry Bird, this one has great ties to the start of Avila's college career at Indiana State. Bird, of course, starred for the Sycamores. The glasses-wearers among us may not appreciate the spectacles equating to "nerd," though.

3. LeBron Frames

He doesn't actually play like LeBron, although the passing ability is remarkable. This one simply made us laugh.

4. Milk Chamberlain

Feels a bit more like a stretch, but this one is listed anywhere Avila's nicknames are discussed. A bit more tongue in cheek than reality, as no one is matching Wilt.

Honorable mention: Steph Blurry, SLU Alcindor, College Jokic

The first two are fun, particularly the rhyme with Lew Alcindor to go back to the Cream Abdul-Jabbar offering. College Jokic shows up on Avila nickname lists, too, but that one is kind of lame. Not really a nickname, is it?
