Road closures, detours and delays: What to know for Eugene Marathon weekend

More than 10,000 runners are expected to participate in the sold-out Eugene Marathon and half-marathon this weekend.

According to Becky Radliff, the event's marketing director, an additional 4,000 runners registered for the sold-out Eugene 5K and Kid's Duck Dash on April 26.

"This is the second year in a row that all races have sold out," Radliff said. She also mentioned that the capacity for the race events has increased by about 20% since 2024.

Whether you're racing through the city, cheering from the sidelines or are a Eugene resident looking to avoid the area completely, here's all you need to know about navigating the streets during marathon weekend.

What time do the races start?​

• Eugene 5K: 8 a.m. April 26.
• Kids Duck Dash: 9:30 a.m. April 26.
• Marathon and half marathon: 7 a.m. April 27.

Eugene Marathon activities to impact traffic on Saturday and Sunday​

Here are the road closures and neighborhood impacts to expect in Eugene on Saturday for the 5K.

• AgateStreet north of 18th to 13th - closed 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Agate Street south of 18th to 24th - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• 24th Avenue from Agate to University - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• University from 20th to 24th - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• 20th from University to Harris Street - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Harris from 20th to 23rd - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• 23rd from Harris to Alder - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Alder from 23rd to 15th - closed 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
