Riley Leonard gets his shot as the Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback in NFL Week 18 action against the Houston Texans, and he makes the most of it early. His first pass of the game goes 66 yards to Alec Pierce for a touchdown.
Leonard, a rookie sixth-round draft pick from Notre Dame (via Duke), makes his fifth appearance.
Riley completed 18-of-29 passes for 145 yards and an interception on Dec. 7 in a loss to Jacksonville after Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending injury. The Colts then signed 44-year-old Philip Rivers, who started three games, all losses.
On his first pass, Leonard hits a wide-open Alec Pierce for 66 yards and a touchdown.
