Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison could be set for a summer exit, according to The Athletic. Despite finishing as Spurs’ top scorer last season, his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains uncertain. Roberto De Zerbi is keen to reshape his squad ahead of next season, with multiple additions planned across the pitch. Tottenham have already parted ways with Randal Kolo Muani following a disappointing loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain and could now be set for another departure in attack.
Spurs fended off significant competition to sign Richarlison from Everton in 2022, but a return of 33 goals from 133 appearances is underwhelming for a £60m signing. While Richarlison finished the 2025/26 campaign with a respectable 12-goal tally, a closer look at the numbers reveals why the club’s hierarchy is considering a sale. His performances have been marked by inconsistency, with many of his goals coming in short bursts rather than steady contributions across the season.
De Zerbi’s tactical philosophy also plays a key role in this potential exit. The Italian demands a fluid, technically proficient forward who can drop deep, link play with intricate passing, and lead a relentless high press. While Richarlison’s work ethic is unquestioned, his profile as a traditional, physical penalty-box striker does not fit the manager’s vision. Richarlison would attract interest if made available, though his options may not be as enticing as in years past. The forward was omitted from Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup and will be eager to revive his fortunes next season.
